Chapter 114 Thinking
Chapter 114 Thinking
The invincible Cruz is dead.
Thus, his territory, his property, and even his "goods" soon found new owners.
David Day.
He used to be Cruz's subordinate, but that's all in the past.
Now, he wants to be the boss!
Just like Cruz did.
"Who objects!"
In a room at the Palm Motel, David expressed his thoughts and began making final confirmations.
Of course, this is just confirmation.
After all, there were fewer than twenty people present, and more than half of them had already expressed their support privately.
However, the formalities still need to be followed, otherwise how can we convince the public?
However, to his surprise, someone actually dared to question the boss's decision!
"David, shouldn't we deal with the boss's body first, before we talk about who should...?"
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out, and the person who was speaking fell to the ground.
Amidst the chilling silence, David sheathed his still-smoking gun.
He was very satisfied with everyone's performance.
He's a "perfectionist" and things have to be "unanimously approved" for it to be perfect.
So he began his second inquiry.
"Who objects!"
"I object!"
David never expected that, after eliminating one "opposition" member in front of everyone, there would still be someone who dared to oppose the boss's decision!
And they did it so blatantly!
He immediately turned his gun around and aimed it in the direction from which the sound came.
Esther! That traitor actually dared to come back!
But just as he was about to pull the trigger, he saw another figure.
That devil who dragged Cruz's headless corpse and displayed it to everyone!
He's here too!
What is he going to do!
Are they here to kill me?
Because I... became the boss?
Do not!
"I'm not the boss!"
David denied it in terror, scrambling under the table in a disheveled state, his former arrogance and ruthlessness completely gone.
It was as if he was afraid that if Li Wei killed him, he would drag his soul into hell.
"This kind of scum wants to be the boss?"
Li Wei said this with considerable disdain.
As his voice rang out, everyone looked over.
Then, Li Wei saw a group of people frantically drawing their guns.
Faced with more than a dozen guns, Li Wei made only one move.
He drew his gun, pointed it into the air, and pulled the trigger.
"roar!"
With a dragon's roar, a fireball the size of a fist pierced through the ceiling, leaving only a hole.
The morning light shone down through the hole, forming a pillar of light, like stage lights shining on Li Wei.
"It is... God's angel of judgment!"
"God has sent angels to punish us!"
"I am guilty!"
The "Dragon's Breath" terrified everyone, including Esther.
Everyone dropped their guns in terror, and even the guy who had been yelling "I'm guilty" knelt down and began to pray.
Esther, who was witnessing the power of "Dragon's Breath" for the first time, stared at Levi in shock, her legs even feeling a little weak.
What else could Li Wei say?
These Americans, even when they become homeless, still thank God after receiving charity!
Therefore, when faced with something you can't understand, simply attributing it to God is a basic practice.
Li Wei was too lazy to pay them any attention.
He stood there, like David, and began to announce.
"I'm going to take over everything related to that Cruze."
"Wealth, manpower, territory."
"This is my spoils of war."
"Who objects?"
The entire scene was completely silent.
No one dared to object, but no one expressed approval either.
Until David suddenly popped out from under the table.
"I support the new leader taking over! Anyone who opposes him is going against me, David Day!"
As David said this, he bowed and scraped to Levi, his face beaming with smiles.
It looks just like a lapdog sticking its tongue out.
Esther felt that his position as "first subordinate" was seriously threatened.
However, Li Wei didn't seem to care much and instead began announcing the "new rules".
"There are only three rules for following me."
"First, you absolutely cannot touch any medicines like 'flour.' Whether you're using it yourself or selling it, I'll kill anyone who touches it."
"Second, obey orders and follow commands. Anyone who disobeys will be executed on the spot."
"Third, you are not allowed to disturb the neighbors. This is very impolite and will make me very unhappy."
The first and second points didn't elicit much of a reaction from the crowd.
Are they God's "judgment angels"? They didn't kill them directly, but just made them obedient, which is equivalent to giving them a chance to repent and start anew.
There's no time to feel relieved, so how could I possibly feel dissatisfied?
The third option, which seemed the easiest, immediately sparked a hushed discussion.
Li Wei didn't say anything, he just stood there with his arms crossed, waiting for them to come to a conclusion.
In the end, it was David who spoke first.
"Boss, we agree with and support your statement that we shouldn't disturb the peace."
Li Wei still didn't react; he was waiting for that "but".
And indeed, things turned out exactly as Li Wei had predicted.
"But boss, judging from your imposing presence, you must know about this industry."
"If it really doesn't disturb the neighbors, what will we eat?"
Li Wei did not answer his question directly, but instead asked him a question in return.
"You used to take over territory, extort protection money from small businesses; you got single mothers hooked on 'flour' or gambling, then forced them into prostitution through debt; or you had college students sell 'flour' on campus—that's what your business used to be, right?"
Li Wei rattled off their "business acumen" as if reciting a familiar story, prompting almost everyone present to nod in agreement, including Esther.
Perhaps it's the embarrassment of having their secrets exposed, or perhaps their limited conscience is holding them back, or maybe it's just to make themselves appear more sociable.
But none of that matters, because Li Wei wasn't condemning them; he just wanted them to understand a principle.
"Do you think you can make a lot of money this way?"
After speaking, Li Wei did not tell them his plans directly, but instead scanned everyone present with his eyes.
However, no one answered.
Li Wei wasn't in a hurry, but instead asked another question.
"So, do you want to make a lot of money?"
From seashells to digital payments, humanity's desire for money is built upon order and has become an instinct as natural as breathing.
So this time, Li Wei received a response very quickly.
"think!"
Esther was the first to answer, saying that he wasn't just supporting his boss, but really wanted to "make a lot of money"!
And this word, as if possessing some kind of magic, sparked a wave of discussion.
"think!"
"think!"
"think!"
……
At first, the cheers were chaotic.
However, with each repetition of "Want!", the word coalesced in the waves of sound, becoming uniform, and the crowd even spontaneously added their own arm-waving and shouting responses.
"think!"
"think!"
"think!"
David Day, the one who should be the most vocal critic, is the one shouting the loudest.
Li Wei smiled.
