Chapter 73 You Feed Me
Chapter 73 You Feed Me
The ward door was pushed open, and Mina yawned as she looked at Jung Do-hoon, who was sitting on a chair in the corridor. He was resting with his eyes closed and had no idea that she was there.
Mina quietly approached and patted him on the shoulder.
"Is she awake?" Zheng Daoxun opened his eyes.
"Why don't we just go in and see? I'm so sleepy, I'm going out to buy a coffee... How come you're not sleepy at all?"
"I had a cup of black coffee before I came."
"Drinking black coffee so late at night?"
Mina slightly widened her almond-shaped eyes, but didn't dwell on it any longer. She waved her hand and walked out.
"Watch it for me for a while."
Pushing open the door, Jung Do-hoon glanced at the bedside table before looking at Minatozaki Sana.
His eyes were closed, and he looked like he was fast asleep.
Sana Minato heard the door being pushed open. If it was Mina, she would definitely tell her about Jung Do-hoon's situation as promised.
The person who came in walked very quietly and remained silent. They did not check on Sana Minatozaki's condition, ruling out the possibility that they were a nurse.
So what is he doing now? Is he sitting next to me casually playing on his phone? Or is he silently observing me?
Sana Minatozaki really wanted to peek at him by slightly opening her eyes.
If only she were hiding under the covers, then I could openly peek at her.
But... which patient would wrap themselves in a blanket and cover their head while still unconscious?
He should at least say something to me, right? While I'm still "sound asleep," he should share his thoughts.
But Jung Do-hoon remained silent. The room was so quiet that Minatozaki Sana seemed to hear the sound of glucose flowing from the IV drip.
Tick, tick...
The nurse call bell rang, and he finally spoke:
"It's time to change the patient's IV drip."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Was he staring at the IV line just now? Was it because the IV bag was about to be changed that he was so focused on it that he didn't have time to chat with Sana Minatozaki?
Her heart was itching. Sana Minatozaki should have known better than to pretend to be asleep. She should have stared straight at Jung Do-hoon the moment he walked in—
Let's see how he reacts.
He must have a lot to explain to himself, right? Why did he know her house code? Why was he still worried after taking her to the hospital and didn't he just leave?
It was too late to say anything. At this moment, Sana Minatozaki couldn't figure out how to open her eyes naturally, or what kind of look she should give Jung Do-hoon.
"Slow down the drip rate, otherwise it will hurt."
"Now you know how to care?" the nurse started nagging again. "If your girlfriend had just had a hot meal, she wouldn't be in the hospital."
The nurse was clearly speaking up for her, so why did Sana Minatozaki feel like crying?
She actually felt that this belated concern was enough to satisfy her, which is truly heartbreaking.
Zheng Daoxun glanced at the movement on the bed, but did not defend himself. Only after the nurse left did he slowly sit down, cross his legs, and examine the woman on the hospital bed.
She lay in the hospital bed, her face thinner and younger than I remembered, but her stubborn expression was exactly the same.
Sana Minatozaki, didn't you have so much to say? You must have so many questions, right? Why are you pretending to be asleep now?
beep……
The phone rang, and Sana Minatozaki instinctively wanted to open her eyes, but quickly closed them again, trying to keep her breathing at a steady rhythm so as not to give herself away.
"Mina-xi, did Sana wake up in the middle of the night?"
Oh no... How did Jung Do-hoon know I was awake? Minatozaki Sana thought she had performed very well, lying there the whole time without even moving a hair.
Also, why did Mina specifically tell Jung Do-hoon that she hadn't woken up? Was it to discourage Jung Do-hoon from waiting any longer and to get him to go back sooner?
"Don't lie to me, how come the lid of this bowl of porridge is open?"
It turned out to be the lid of the porridge container! Sana Minatozaki was really confused for a moment. How could she not have thought that the porridge she had drunk would betray her? She had been acting all this time, but it turned out he knew from the beginning that she was pretending to be asleep.
"Wasn't this porridge bought for Sana? You can't possibly drink it yourself, can you?"
"Stop denying it, the lid was clearly opened."
"Ah..." Minatozaki Sana opened her eyes, intending to tell Jung Do-hoon to stop arguing with Mina about whether the porridge had been drunk, but she found that he was just holding his phone and not making any calls.
His acting was so superb that you couldn't tell from his tone that he was pretending to make a phone call.
Jung Do-hoon's eyes held a hint of amusement and helplessness, making Minatozaki Sana feel somewhat embarrassed and awkward.
My little tricks have long been seen through.
"You've been doing this for a while now... *sobs*..."
Sana Minatozaki wanted to laugh self-deprecatingly, but halfway through her sentence, she felt her eyes well up with tears.
How could he be so mean! He was teasing her like a puppy.
He was the one who first broke into her house, he was the one who asked the hotel staff to put a blanket on her, he was the one who rushed to her house to save her and carried her all the way downstairs!
He was the one who left Sana Minatozaki alone in Indonesia, he was the one who knew certain things about the future but pretended to be confused, and he was the one who guessed that she was acting but slowly and teasingly exposed her!
What exactly does he want?
Sana Minato turned to the side, her back to him, trying to suppress her tears, but they just wouldn't stop flowing.
She really didn't know how to face Zheng Daoxun.
"Don't move around, you still have an IV in your hand." Jung Do-hoon gently pressed down on Minatozaki Sana's hand, which she was trying to cover her face, and said helplessly, "Sometimes I really don't know whether to say you're ruthless and smart enough to yourself, or just plain stupid... How could you starve yourself to this extent?"
"Do you care...?" She forced back the trembling of her lips, sniffed, and glanced at the man standing by the bed out of the corner of her eye.
"If it's the latter, even out of humanitarian considerations, it's hard not to care, right? An adult can starve themselves to the point of hypoglycemia at home." Jung Do-hoon helped Minatozaki Sana back to her seat before sitting down. "But if it's the former, I admit I'm a step behind you."
Did he think... that Sana Minatozaki deliberately starved herself unconscious in order to force Jung Do-hoon to face her?
She really didn't think that much about it, or maybe he was overthinking it.
"If I were smart and ruthless enough to myself, would you answer all my questions truthfully?" Sana Minatozaki reached out and took the tissue he offered, gently wiping her eyes—
Unfortunately, she wasn't that cunning.
"Maybe so. I admit I was startled by you. If you have any questions, I'll answer them to the best of my ability."
"But I'm not smart enough. I'm just a fool who can starve myself to the point of hypoglycemia at home because I'm in a bad mood. What should I do?" She blinked and stared straight at Zheng Daoxun.
"Then hurry up and drink the porridge, or it will get cold."
"I have needles in my hand, so feed me."
