Chapter 2 Wizard Nova, Potions
Chapter 2 Wizard Nova, Potions
Leo did not make a move.
Leo had witnessed the fate of the young man from Pros who had just made the move. He knew that taking action was pointless; it would only add another life to the wizard Ryan's hand.
Leo turned and left.
Wizard Ryan watched Leo leave, his eyes gleaming.
If the Tower of Dawn discovers that this wizard budding with level 3 mental strength has rejected him, he will likely be punished.
However, considering that the other party had no chance of going to the Tower of Dawn, Wizard Ryan didn't care.
"Next."
Soon, everyone had finished the test.
There are two wizards on the wizard ship.
At this moment, another wizard came out of the cabin and asked, "Lane, what were the test results?"
"Not bad. There's one person with level 4 mental talent from the Socratic royal family, three people with level 3 mental talent from noble families, and fifteen people with level 2 mental talent. A total of 19 people are qualified."
The wizard was somewhat surprised and said, "To think there's a level 4 mental talent! We're really lucky this time. In the past two years, we only had one or two wizard buddings with level 3 mental talent. This year is truly a bumper harvest."
The wizard then said, "I'll take the unqualified ones back. Ryan, you take them to the Tower of Dawn."
Leo felt uneasy as he boarded the ship back to the mainland.
On the small boat, apart from Leo, the other people being repatriated were also in a bad mood.
Many of these people were in a similar situation to Leo, having come to the wizard ship because they could no longer stay on the mainland. Their repatriation meant that they would have to face the crisis they had once fled.
Leo's gaze then fell on a young man who was reading a book.
The young man was elegant in demeanor and had a friendly smile on his face.
He was Nova, another wizard on the wizard ship.
Unlike the wizard Ryan, the wizard Nova is more in line with Leo's impression of wizards—indifferent to everything around them, and immersed in their own ocean of knowledge.
From the moment he boarded the small boat, Nova sat reading, oblivious to the surrounding chatter, conversations, and the occasional strange movements on the sea.
Leo looked at the wizard Nova, pondering to himself.
If I tell this wizard now that his mental talent is level 3, what are the chances that he will take me back to the Tower of Dawn?
As the small boat sailed, the mainland drew ever closer.
Leo gritted his teeth and stepped forward, saying, "Master Wizard, what book are you reading?"
Nova stopped turning the pages, looked up at Leo, and said, "I'm reading, please don't disturb me. If you're interested, you can take the book I left over here."
"Thank you for lending me the book, great wizard." Leo smiled, looking like a book lover.
Nova seemed somewhat surprised, but quickly became engrossed in acquiring knowledge from the books.
Leo was weighing the changes in his relationship with Nova. His plan was to first use their shared interests to get closer to each other, and then reveal that he had a level 3 mental talent.
Leo pondered this in his mind, and then he took a book from the small pile of books next to Nova.
Basic Potions
Potions is a discipline in which wizards use their spiritual energy to concoct potions.
"In the process of concocting potions, besides the rare and dangerous materials that may be needed, the most crucial element is the method of infusing spiritual energy during the concoction process."
Leo originally intended to use this as a stepping stone to get closer to Noval.
But after reading the book, Leo gradually became immersed in it.
A gentle voice appeared in Leo's mind.
"Inferior quality detected in the Potion of Arts (Basic Potions). Add to the collection?"
"Completed with the encyclopedia entry."
Basic Potion Mastery

'Refine inferior quality (Basic Potions) into common quality (Basic Potions)'
Basic Potion Mastery

Function: Contains the basic knowledge of potion-making.
Cost: 50 Refinement Points
Suddenly, a large number of vivid images flooded into Leo's mind.
These clips seem to transform basic potion-making from text into visual form, allowing Leo to gain a deeper understanding of this knowledge.
In the clip, Leo's main perspective is from a first-person viewpoint.
Rather than being a fragment, it's more like Leo practicing using his knowledge of potion-making.
Leo gradually became immersed in it, unaware that his hands were rhythmically releasing fluctuations of spiritual energy.
Leo's actions caught Nova's attention.
Nova watched Leo's movements with some surprise: "This child learns so quickly. He only glanced at Basic Potions for a short while, and he's already able to grasp the core concepts."
"Unfortunately, his mental strength talent isn't up to par."
Even with a talent for potions, one cannot become a wizard if their mental fortitude is insufficient.
Nova lowered his head again and went back to reading.
After an unknown amount of time, Leo finally snapped out of the image and a prompt flashed through his mind.
"Master the Inferior Quality Basic Potions Compendium, Refinement Points +10"
"Master the Basic Potions Guide (Common Quality), Refinement Points +50"
In the game, a refined encyclopedia allows players to acquire skills or items, and when acquiring skills and items, players also gain refinement points.
"Since the Basic Potions Atlas can be obtained this way, then the Elementary Meditation Technique should also be able to yield refinement points... As for why I haven't obtained it, it's probably because I haven't truly mastered the Elementary Meditation Technique yet."
Thinking about this, Leo actually felt somewhat happy.
He's already achieved such results with a low-quality beginner's meditation guide that he hasn't fully mastered yet; once he does, the improvement in his meditation efficiency will be considerable.
The joy in Leo's heart was fleeting; he looked at Nova.
By this time, the wizard had finished reading the book and was holding a flat piece of bread in his hand, nibbling on it little by little.
When the wizard Nova saw Leo looking over, he smiled amiably and asked, "What's your name?"
Leo was surprised that Nova had struck up a conversation with him before he could even speak. He quickly said, "My name is Leo Danville, Wizard."
Nova nodded slightly and continued, "Have you had any prior knowledge of Potions?"
"No." Leo shook his head.
Nova said, "Your understanding of Potions is quite good. However, without the support of a wizard's identity, Potions is a worthless subject. My personal advice is that once you return to the mainland, you should forget everything you know about Potions as soon as possible."
"For those who cannot become wizards, knowledge of potions is more harmful than helpful."
Upon hearing this, Leo couldn't help but say, "Master Wizard, I actually have a level 3 mental power talent."
"Level 3 Mental Strength Talent..."
Upon hearing this, the wizard Nova even put down the bread he was holding, frowned, and said, "Are you sure you're not joking with me?"
"I'm not joking, Your Excellency Wizard. Actually, this is what happened."
Leo recounted everything that had happened on the wizard's ship.
After listening to Leo's words, the wizard Nova pondered for a moment and said, "Lyan does indeed despise the Pros... However, I didn't expect that because of this despise, he would even turn away a wizard budding with a level 3 mental talent."
"How about this..."
The wizard Nova conjured a crystal ball out of thin air and said, "Test again here."
Leo placed his hand on the crystal ball.
One, two, three beams of light appeared one after another on the crystal ball.
Wizard Nova frowned and said, "It really is a level 3 mental power talent."
