Chapter 24 Can I stab you?
Chapter 24 Can I stab you?
During his studies, Gebu often encountered the following situation.
I can recognize each character when I break it down.
Put them together, and I can't understand a thing.
What exactly is this "Deep Well Robbery"?!
-----------------
[The Robbery of the Gift in the Deep Well]:
Deep Well: The Etheric Deep Well is a metaphor for the powerful spiritual energy contained within the Etheric plane, like a bottomless well.
The ritual of kidnapping: refers to a dangerous ceremony or trial.
By entering the Aether Plane through alchemical rituals and passing the trials within the Aether Plane, wizard apprentices can advance to wizard level 1.
-----------------
I knew it wouldn't be that simple! Gebu slapped his forehead and then closed the Book of Sand.
Completing four nodes is not enough; there is one last trial waiting for you.
Unlocking this trial requires alchemy. Geb sighed; he couldn't escape this hurdle after all.
Breaking through the second node requires herbalism to craft the [Deep Sleep Potion].
Preparing for the ring-raising ceremony... or this so-called "psychopathic robbery ceremony," requires alchemy—that's troublesome.
Because herbs can be obtained from the old shaman's workshop, but alchemical tools and materials can only be found from humans!
A market for the homeless! I have to go to the market.
Gebu pondered for a moment. "Don't be nervous. This isn't too far off from my original plan. It's just a minor hiccup at most."
The original plan was:
1. Ingratiate yourself with Boss Xiong and the old shaman, and enter the old shaman's inner circle;
2. Eliminate the trio to make room for yourself to take over;
3. Secretly build up personal reputation;
4. Get rid of the old shaman and become the tribe's master.
Becoming the tribe leader is also a stepping stone to his path as a wizard, with leveling up being the top priority.
I'm currently on step two, and with the magic I have, eliminating the trio is only a matter of time. However, to fight the old shaman, it's best to wait until I obtain a formal wizard rank.
So what I need to do now is add one more step to these four steps.
2.5 - Head to the Wanderer's Market to obtain alchemy tools and materials to gain Wizard Rank.
The death of the chubby boy left a vacancy in the old shaman's team. Both the grumpy and the brainless were violent types, and they would definitely be unreliable in business and bookkeeping.
Especially someone as clueless as him... Could he even count to ten? Gebu genuinely doubted it.
From the old shaman's perspective, the best person to lead the market trip is actually himself.
However, since he's already broken ties with himself, if he really embarks on the journey, only one of the two goblins will be able to return.
It would be best to find an opportunity to get rid of him before we set off... Geb thought.
After finalizing the plan, Gebu rubbed his temples and ended his meditation with satisfaction.
-----------------
"Ah—" Gebu stretched and woke up from his meditation. It was still late. He had started early today and finished before midnight, which was still a long way from dawn.
The moon was bright and the stars were few; the forest was quiet and peaceful as night fell. Cicadas chirped, frogs croaked, and leaves rustled in the breeze.
Finally, I can get a real night's sleep, Geb thought.
I spent every night meditating, and although my body got some rest, my mind remained constantly tense.
These past few weeks have passed, and I can't help but feel a bit mentally exhausted.
Gebu shifted his position, resting his head on his hand, his ears folded up and pressed against his cheeks. He had just changed the hay in his new secret base on the cliff, and now he lay comfortably, eyes closed, inhaling the fresh autumn air and listening to the leisurely chirping of cicadas…
Stealing a moment of leisure in the middle of the night...
sleepy……
Hey, why aren't the cicadas chirping anymore?
Gebu was a little puzzled and poked half his head out of the cave wall to look down.
A small, hunched goblin was clinging to the rock face, its bright red eyes staring intently at Gebu's face.
"Gebu...can I stab you?"
"No-Brainer" asked naively, revealing his large, yellowed, and deformed front teeth. The wrought iron dagger hidden in his hand flashed two cold metallic glints against the moonlight.
-----------------
"Aaaaaaaahhhhh!"
The goblin's scream pierced the night sky, startling a nest of bats awake from their rest and causing them to flutter out from the rock face.
"Ignis!"
Geb raised his hand and fired a flaming arrow straight at the red-eyed goblin's face. "Brainless" reacted instantly, releasing his hands and hooking his feet into a crevice in the rock wall, causing his body to swing backward 180 degrees like a pendulum. The flaming arrow swept past his chest and shattered directly beneath the rock wall.
Sparks flew, illuminating the night.
"Ignis!" Geb unleashed another fire arrow.
"Unhappy" leaped across the rock face like a nimble jumping spider, using its two feet as leverage, dodging the flames and landing lightly in front of Gebu.
"Magnubbie's ass!" the little goblin exclaimed.
"What kind of arrow did you shoot? And it's on fire? Interesting." No-Brain asked the goblin in front of him.
"Don't come any closer!"
"If you're not happy to talk, I can stab you. Let me stab you a few times, Geb." The red-eyed goblin gripped his dagger, a kind yet sinister smile on his face.
At this distance, the fire arrow wouldn't be fast enough. If it missed or didn't kill, he'd be done for! Gebu quickly realized.
That's where we'll have to go! An insurance measure!
Gebu watched the mindless movements nervously, but he didn't move, he didn't move...
The red-eyed goblin suddenly twisted its foot on the ground, its calf bursting forth as it lunged at Geb!
"Get out of here!"
Gebu dodged to the side, simultaneously summoning the Wizard's Hand to pull the mechanism at the top of the rock wall!
Splash!
The wooden railings on the ceiling collapsed instantly, sending rubble and dust raining down. The driver, who was halfway there, couldn't stop in time and was completely buried under the debris!
"Cough! Cough!" Geb covered his mouth and nose as he felt around in the dust—his fingers touched the rough leather cover of the Book of Sand. The little goblin picked it up, ignoring everything else, grabbed a rope that was prepared nearby, tied it around his waist, and rolled downhill, escaping towards the bottom of the rock wall.
The instant he disappeared beneath the rock face, a goblin's green hand shot out from the settled gravel!
-----------------
"That scared me to death!" Gebu thought quickly as he pulled himself down the rope.
Didn't I shake off all the guys who were following me?!
Thanks to his grumpy and sly nature, every time he left the camp, a few little goblins would follow him with ill intentions, wanting to see where Geb gathered his precious herbs.
This is a trade secret. They can't be allowed to see it, and they absolutely cannot be allowed to discover the location of the new secret base. Therefore, Gebu is always extremely careful whenever he goes out.
Geb is a dual practitioner of scout and wizard, and knows this forest like the back of his hand. How could he possibly be followed by these goblins?
They wandered around, climbing trees and crawling through caves, deliberately heading towards areas frequented by wild beasts. Within twenty minutes, the boys wisely gave up.
But this "brainless" guy was really stubborn, and he managed to find his hiding place in one night!
"I was careless! I didn't dodge!" Gebu was filled with regret. He had initially thought this guy was an idiot, but it turned out he was not only an idiot, but an idiot with exceptionally strong execution skills!
In less than ten seconds, Gebu's rope reached its end. Seeing that he was still more than a meter above the ground, he gritted his teeth, let go, and jumped down.
Whoops!
My tailbone hurts terribly from sitting on my bottom!
Gebu didn't have time to rub his bottom. He quickly got up from the ground and looked up at the top of the rock wall with lingering fear.
A pair of red eyes appeared on the rock face, their bloodshot light piercing, staring intently at him. The owner of the red eyes waved to Gebu from a height of more than ten meters.
"Don't run away!" shouted the clueless guy. "Give me a poke?"
"Stab your sister!!!"
Gebu took off running.
