Chapter 883 - 400: This Witch Is a Bit Cold
Chapter 883 - 400: This Witch Is a Bit Cold
The candlelight cast strange shadows over the tactical sand table.
Ye Qingzhou placed the black piece representing the Eternal Night Council on the Thief’s Guild location, with three Silver Crosses nearby — the ambush points of the Judgement Knight Order.
"Tomorrow night, Dracula will hold the ’Initial Embrace Ceremony’ in the underground base of the Thief’s Guild."
He moved the blue piece representing the Morning Star Family Army to block the sewer exit: "There are a total of three exits. I will dispatch the City Guard Army to seal them, aiming to capture them all in one fell swoop."
The plan was very simple, but precisely because of this, it was less likely to go wrong.
In fact, the more intricate and complex the plan, the more likely unexpected situations would occur, leading to failure.
And what Ye Qingzhou needed to do was use the powerful forces of the Morning Star Family to set up an inescapable trap and crush the enemy’s base with overwhelming power.
"Is the plan reliable?"
Ye Qingzhou did not immediately answer but took out a piece of black crystal from his pocket.
When he infused it with magic power, a three-dimensional map appeared above the crystal — a black fortress hidden amidst a snowstorm, surrounded by a bizarre purple energy field.
"This is the Shadow Corridor."
Ye Qingzhou’s expression was calm: "The northern base of the Eternal Night Council. It’s located within a magic barrier at the deep waters of the sewers, which ordinary people cannot approach."
Gareth spoke for the first time, his voice hoarse: "How did you get this?"
"I have my methods."
Ye Qingzhou put away the crystal: "What’s important is that I know how to break through their defenses. But I’ll need the Holy Light Power of your Holy Sun Knights to cooperate."
Roland pondered for a moment: "Continue explaining your plan."
Ye Qingzhou squatted down and drew a diagram on the table with his finger: "The defense core of the Shadow Corridor is four shadow nodes, distributed at the four corners of the stronghold. As long as they are destroyed simultaneously, the magic barrier will be ineffective for about fifteen minutes — enough time for us to break in."
Celeste frowned: "Destroying four nodes simultaneously? That would require at least four people."
"Three will suffice."
Ye Qingzhou pointed to the center of the diagram: "I will infiltrate through an underground passage and destroy the main control array from the inside as you attack the nodes, leading to the collapse of the grand array."
Gareth sneered: "Sounds like you’re using us as a diversion, so you can sneak away."
Ye Qingzhou met his gaze: "If I wanted to escape, I wouldn’t be cooperating with you. The Eternal Night Council’s target is me, and I don’t want to live my life in constant fear."
After a moment of silence, Roland nodded: "The Church Court can cooperate with you. On the day of action, the Church Court will send twenty elite knights."
The elite knights are roughly at the level of intermediate professionals, and with three Judgement Knights, this lineup is indeed luxurious.
"Very well."
Ye Qingzhou shook his head: "However, for the task of initially destroying the shadow nodes, having too many people is likely to expose us. It’s best if the four of us handle it personally because the Eternal Night Council’s Perception Magic is particularly sensitive to Holy Light; a large group would be detected before getting close."
In the end, they agreed on the details: the Judgement Knights would launch their attack at 3 A.M. on Star Movement Day, while Ye Qingzhou would infiltrate two hours earlier.
The signal would be a Holy Light Bomb — when it exploded in the sky, it would mark the start of the action.
At dusk, the Blazing Flame Flying Dragons swept over the city, their shadows elongated by the glow of the setting sun.
In the blink of an eye, the day of action arrived.
As night fell, the cold wind cut through everything in the Northern Territory Wastelands like a knife.
Ye Qingzhou stood atop a snow-covered house, his silver-gray cloak flapping loudly in the wind. His breath condensed into fine ice crystals in the air, quickly shredded by the fierce wind.
In the distance, three golden figures were approaching across the vast snowfield.
"They’ve arrived,"
Ye Qingzhou murmured to himself, his fingers unconsciously stroking the hilt of the Dawn Sword at his waist. The sword was engraved with ancient runes, glowing faintly blue under the moonlight of the Land of the Far North.
The three Judgement Knights quickly came to stand before him.
Their leader was the tall Chief Judge Roland, his Secret Silver Armor engraved with the Sun Emblem, the lion’s head on his shoulder roaring to the sky, the hard armor enveloping his body, only his sharp, eagle-like eyes visible beneath his helmet.
"Laine,"
His voice was deep and powerful, carrying an undeniable authority.
Ye Qingzhou nodded slightly: "Chief Judge Roland, I have been eagerly anticipating your arrival."
Roland scrutinized the young man before him.
Ye Qingzhou appeared to be under fifteen years old, his originally black-gold hair now entirely dyed black, with a few unnatural strands of silver-white mixed in. A small scar beneath his left eye looked as though it had been inflicted by some magic.
Most striking were his eyes — one was deep brown like earth, while the other was a peculiar ice-blue.
"Bishop Victor was surprised to receive a request for help..."
Roland said: "It is unexpected that a noble in the Northern Territory still wishes to cooperate with the Church Court."
Ye Qingzhou’s lips curved into a barely perceptible cold smile: "The Eternal Night Council’s influence in the Northern Territory has surpassed what any single organization can handle. Even the Morning Star Family knows when to seek allies."
Behind Roland, Celeste and Gareth exchanged a glance, the former taking a step forward: "Tonight, we have a common goal, and I hope the cooperation goes smoothly."
"Rest assured, the Morning Star Family will not betray its allies."
Ye Qingzhou directly invoked the Morning Star Family’s name; after all, if something went wrong, it would be the family that was shamed, something Ye Qingzhou did not particularly care about.
