Chapter 686: Baraqiel Baraqijal (Part 4)
Chapter 686: Baraqiel Baraqijal (Part 4)
Yeah, I figured that already. Well, shit...
"Behold, humans, my full power! Well, the full power of this physical body I’ve been granted, anyway. All this running and hiding is rather vexing, so let’s level the playing field, shall we?" Smirked Baraqiel, chanting as intense sparks of lightning crackled around him, "
A devastating burst of crackling, dancing streaks of lightning erupted around him, followed by relentless blasts of light energy as he unleashed his attacks with reckless abandon.
The others and I zipped around the space to evade the attacks, loud crashes ringing out as he peppered the surrounding buildings in the vicinity in his assault.
Several of the buildings began to collapse and fall apart, dense clouds of dust bursting out as the buildings got reduced to piles of rubble. Cries of alarm rang out from the Hunters who had arrived at the scene, they’d also gotten caught up in the barrier.
No, it was not accident that they ended up in here, this is what he was waiting for this whole time. He wanted the Hunters to arrive before he went all-out, he knows we’ll have a harder time of things if we have to fight them.
As the barrage of light and lightning finally ceased, the entire area having being reduced to rubble, I regrouped with mom, Ciel and Cleo, right as Ira came flying through the dust clouds towards us, carrying Alkimia. He descended and set her down beside us, a slightly rattled look on her face.
"This isn’t good, all his stats and Power Level have doubled, he’s at ten million now. His Mana has doubled too...while the amount he’d already used up hasn’t been restored, he’s still gained an extra 5000 MP," Remarked Cleo with a grimace.
"Well, so much for trapping him in Pocket Dimension with us, huh?" Ciel sighed wistfully.
"Yeah, I was prepared for the possibility that he wouldn’t take the bait, but not that he’d have an ability that could cut me off from Pocket Dimension," I nodded grimly.
"So, what’s the plan?" Inquired mom, glancing ahead warily as the dust began to clear.
"Alright...mom, Alkimia, you two go and incapacitate the Hunters, I’ll send all the Apostles, except Acedia who I’m currently fused with, to fight alongside you. Once you’ve knocked them out, put them somewhere by the edge of the barrier and rejoin us. In the meantime, Ciel, Cleo and I will take on Baraqiel. Cleo, summon your other two Spirits as well," I decided, after taking a brief moment to mull it over.
"Got it.
The Vampire took form with a glowing body, her skin ghostly pale. She had long, flowing white hair, crimson eyes, pointy ears, sharp fangs and claws, and was on the taller side, with a slender, attractive figure. She wore a long, red dress that exposed her shoulders, with a slit across her right leg, and matching high heels on her feet.
The Devil had an almost-fully white body, with spiky black hair and fully black eyes, including a third eye on his forehead. He had backward-curved black horns on either side of his head, with a skinny body and limbs. His forearms and his legs from the knees onwards were pitch-black, and he had a long wiry whip-like tail.
"My turn.
Her Devil, with wild, long silver hair, a slender figure with a plump chest and long, slim limbs. Other than that, she had all the same features as Cleo’s Devil.
As for the Angel, he had a fully golden, glowing body with an average build, flowing golden hair and pure white slits for eyes. He had no nose, ears or a mouth, and had white-feathered wings and golden halo over head.
"Huh, besides the wings and halo, this thing looks nothing like that Angel," Mused Ciel, voicing my thoughts.
"
"
Mom and her Spirits, Alkimia and the Apostles broke away from the group, swiftly making their way towards the other Hunters, as the rest of us fanned out and shot towards Baraqiel, spreading out and starting to surround him.
I still have both Enrage and Descent at full capacity, and about three minutes before my Spirit Fusion with Acedia runs out.
"
Baraqiel rapidly shuffled across, my blast engulfing his right arm and wiping it out in the blink of an eye...before his arm regenerated in a near-instant. No question, his regeneration is faster.
As he turned his attention to Cleo and fired out a bolt of lightning at her, her Devil sprang out in front of her, chanting...
"
A stunned look appeared on the Devil’s face as he failed to nullify the attack, the lightning striking his chest and blasting him away before he could react.
"I was afraid of this. The Devils’ Anti-Magic doesn’t work on Divine Arts," I surmised, as Baraqiel evaded a barrage of explosions from Ciel.
He then shot towards her as Cleo unleashed an atomic blast at him, her attack erupting fiercely as it struck the ground. The Angel fired out a volley of light blasts as I targeted him with a Negative Energy barrage, our attacks canceling out.
He formed a blade of light along his right palm as he closed in on Ciel, lunging forward and slashing at her neck. His eyes widened in surprise as he phased right through her, before she rapidly spun around and fired out an explosion at near-point-blank range, straight at his face.
Hm?
He reacted instinctively, raising his arms up protectively over his Halo, the explosion hitting his arms and blasting him away. He swiftly spread out his wings to bring himself to a halt, the damage to his arms promptly healing.
He slowly turned his gaze towards me, an uneasy look of dread on his face...
"You’re quite easy to read, aren’t you? So, that’s how we kill you. Your weakness, it’s that Halo, isn’t it?"
