Reborn After Betrayal: The Frail True Princess Decides to Give Up

Chapter 224 : Yes Boss, Understood Boss

Chapter 224 : Yes Boss, Understood Boss

After sending Celitia back to her room, Benita still felt very guilty. She sat by the bed, holding Celitia's hand and refusing to leave, not even wanting to go back to eat dinner.

"I'm really fine, you don't need to stay with me."

Celitia closed her eyes, her breathing gradually steadying. "You should go back and eat, Benita."

Benita bit her lower lip and gripped her hand tighter: "You really don't blame me?"

"What's there to blame about such a small matter?" Celitia said drowsily. "Besides, friends should help each other."

"You're right, I understand."

Benita's voice gradually became firm, then slowly softened.

"Well then, good night, Lily."

Celitia fell asleep.

Perhaps due to the influence of the residual dark matter energy, this time Celitia clearly knew she had connected to the inner side of the world.

A fluffy rabbit happened to be lying in front of her, struggling to move its body with difficulty.

Its legs were caught in something like a bear trap, which had clamped both hind legs, making it unable to run, jump, or walk. It could only crawl on the ground with difficulty.

Celitia looked down at it and recognized this rabbit:

"Didn't you run away? Why have you become so miserable?"

"I was about to ask—why is it you again!"

The rabbit lifted its head, saw Celitia, and its entire rabbit face twisted into an aggrieved expression.

"Oh Goddess, how am I so unlucky? I just went out to forage and suffered such tragic treatment!"

Celitia ignored its words: "So what exactly happened to you?"

The rabbit was utterly dejected and began complaining non-stop:

"That place had a mysterious aura that was very attractive to me, and it was actually an overlapping point between the surface and inner sides, very suitable for us to live in. I really didn't want to give up such an excellent territory, so after you left, I secretly snuck back. Who knew that red-haired woman would bring a bunch of people back and hold a ritual overnight to sever the connection point!"

At this point, the rabbit gritted its teeth and made a tearful accusation:

"Those people had some skill—I almost got caught by them! Fortunately I ran fast, but I still got hit by their binding curse, got a bit injured, and my feet are tied up so I can't break free for now."

"Isn't this your own fault?" Celitia was speechless. "If you're too greedy, sooner or later you'll end up vomiting everything you've eaten."

"I know that! Can you say less sarcastic things?"

The rabbit rolled its eyes dramatically. "We're clearly the same race, yet you have no racial solidarity at all!"

"Who's the same race as you? I'm human."

Celitia also rolled her eyes at it, walked to the rabbit's side, crouched down, and tried to pry open the trap clamping its feet.

"This is their binding curse, just manifested in the inner side as a bear trap. It's not a real trap—what use is prying it open like that?"

Just as the rabbit finished speaking, Celitia applied force with both hands and actually managed to pry open the trap, throwing it far away.

The "bear trap" lost its anchor, gradually faded in color, and finally turned into green smoke that dissipated.

Celitia dusted off her palms: "I can't help with the injuries on your feet—take good care of them yourself."

"Why?" The rabbit stared at her in disbelief. "Why can you break it open?"

"How should I know?" Celitia shrugged. "Maybe it's because of the Goddess's blessing, or maybe because I'm not a resident of the inner side, but a human from the outer world."

Celitia had no interest in tangling with this seemingly not-too-bright rabbit.

"Learn your lesson next time and don't go out causing trouble and playing with people's hearts."

With that, Celitia turned and walked away.

It was rare to come to the inner side of the world—Celitia wanted to look around.

"Hey, wait. I said wait!"

The rabbit changed back into a semi-transparent cloud and floated toward Celitia, blocking her path.

"This is the first time I've met such an interesting human," it said enthusiastically. "Do you need companions? How about being friends?"

Celitia walked around it: "Don't need any, not interested."

The demons' survival characteristics destined most of them to be troublemakers.

This one in front of her wasn't too bad, but it hadn't forgotten about messing with people either.

"Don't need companions or friends?"

The rabbit immediately panicked. "Then do you need a follower? I, the great Annie, will be your little follower!"

"You have a name, called Annie?" Celitia glanced at it.

She had thought these demons, born from heaven and earth and living alone, wouldn't have names.

However, after asking, Celitia felt a bit regretful.

Knowing its name, she might find it very hard to shake it off...!

"Of course, humans have names, so we have names too!"

Annie happily floated around in front of and behind her, spinning constantly. "Knowing my name means I acknowledge you!"

Celitia rolled her eyes: "What does that have to do with me?"

Annie said righteously: "It has to do with me! From now on, you're my boss!!"

"..."

Was there such a thing as forcibly acknowledging a boss?

"You have a very special aura about you. My intuition tells me that following you can't be wrong!"

Celitia said: "I'll take that as a compliment."

"Why are you so reluctant? I'm telling you, I'm very useful!"

Annie changed back into a rabbit and forcibly jumped onto Celitia's shoulder, chattering in her ear.

"I'm a dream demon among the demon race. If you want someone to have nightmares, just tell me and I'll definitely accomplish it!"

Celitia's mouth twitched: "I don't need anyone to have nightmares—"

She paused slightly, suddenly thinking of another possibility. "But I might have some things that need you to help me investigate in this world. Can you do that?"

Annie patted her fluffy chest with her short front limbs:

"Of course! The great Annie has extensive connections—there's nothing I can't investigate!"

"Good, let's consider this a deal then."

Celitia nodded. "If you need me to do something, as long as it's not excessive, I'll definitely try to help."

Annie was overjoyed: "Then it's settled, Boss!"

"Don't call me Boss," Celitia corrected her. "My name is Celitia."

"Yes Boss!" Annie replied very quickly.

Celitia tried to correct Annie again: "Not Boss, it's Celitia. Just call me by my name."

"Understood Boss!!" Annie's voice was even louder.

Celitia: "..."

She basically gave up correcting Annie's form of address.

Speaking of which, was this foolish dream demon really okay?

Why was she so worried??
