Chapter 459: Rewards
Chapter 459: Rewards
“Okay, I have to admit. The system event was one hell of a show. Good job, Ratgul,” R-87 said, clapping the other god—the designer of the system event—on the back.“Eh, it was nothing. See? Millions of years, and you never said something like that. Now I don’t even know how to deal with it,” Ratgul said jokingly while watching the map before him, which showed the many treasure hunts still ongoing—with one already finished.
Every treasure hunt had been individual, with different difficulties. There had to be some standards, but eight had a very dangerous last stage.
That the first winner he would take under his wing before sending back to the new universe was an F grade without a blessing had caught his interest.
“What do you think about the Chosen? In my opinion, they all get more stupid with every era. We weren’t like that, right?” Lyrian commented.
“I’m not sure. The competition is a bit higher with so many gods giving out divine blessings. This era should be a record. I just hope when my event goes off they’ll still be around—otherwise it wouldn’t be nearly as fun,” R-87 commented in a good mood.
“Though I have to say, I’m also interested in that F grade. Since he gets a training session from you as a reward, would you mind if I come by?”
Ratgul thought for a moment but, in the end, had nothing against it.
“Oh, I also want to take a look,” Lyrian quickly followed up.
“Fine, fine. You can come by,” Ratgul said with a deadpan face, though he was quite happy about it.
The reward this human got was truly special, and only four other treasure hunts offered such a prize.
“Great. So do we have other winners? And why were they so fast? I was distracted by this almost round rock. It’s almost perfectly round—but this one edge is sticking out, and I’m asking myself… why?” R-87 asked.
“I think it has something to do with the Chosen fighting each other more directly. And besides the king and the ritual, nothing could really stop them,” Lyrian suggested.
“There is also another detail. In the other trials, an alliance took over, and the others didn’t dare to attack them while being outnumbered. In the trial that finished first, everything could have happened. I have to say, I’m already very excited for the human to come by. Besides being F grade, he’s also a shapeshifter. This class always struggles—too many bodies, needing to learn how to fight with all of them, and requiring far more resources depending on how many forms you have. If a shapeshifter has three strong forms, he’ll need three times the coin and time. For an F grade shapeshifter to win an E grade event against strong Chosen is quite the achievement. Too bad we can’t tell the others, since nothing can leave this place,” Ratgul monologued.
“I think the rock would be perfectly round if it spent more time outside in the sun,” R-87 said after a short period of silence.
“…Do you think the F grade will like my rock?”

Thalion was teleported out when the clock hit zero, and now he was hovering in empty space with a system notification popping up before him.

His body had been automatically and fully restored, but he still felt drained and exhausted.
This had been one hell of a trial—but it had worked out well.
The moment he returned to New Earth, it would all start over again.
There was a coming war. Eric probably didn’t like him that much since he hadn’t killed the prince when he had the chance—and if he wasn’t completely wrong, one or two vines might have also attacked the light warrior.
Thalion really needed a moment of peace to catch his breath before he would start closing the gap to those Chosen and show them what real strength was.
To be fair, that was still a long shot—especially with them being this close to D grade, which from what he had heard was a massive power-up.
Still, seeing what the Primordial Bloodseed had done gave him hope that he might kick some ass much earlier than first thought.
1. Thalion – 1,180,347,892 Points
2. Zargaz Chosen of Tenebrice – 550,782,440 Points
3. Ethan Chosen of Aeta – 443,116,905 Points
4. First Daughter of the Hive – 437,884,331 Points
5. Urgol Chosen of Ghor'Var – 331,442,780 Points
6. Calen – 324,990,215 Points
7. Eric Chosen of Solarion – 318,673,904 Points
8. Arelion Chosen of Vaelthir – 212,408,667 Points
9. Prince Varathis of the Vorakai – 206,139,522 Points
10. Maeve Chosen of Morgana – 199,874,301 Points
Well, look who we have here in first place.
Thalion grinned widely.
Now the gap between him and second place looked massive—but if he had made one mistake, he likely wouldn’t have had that many points… or he’d be dead.
That Eric had dropped down to seventh place was probably a bummer.
The other Chosen would definitely make sure it was because he had been friendly with Thalion—and especially at the end, there had been a few unfortunate misunderstandings.
The First Daughter finishing in fourth place probably also wasn’t a bringer of joy—especially after her sister got eaten.
Zargaz had managed to reach second place, which was probably because he was a vampire and had something similar to Thalion’s blood plant.
For this Zargaz, the last stage must have been a feeding ground.
Now, with the Sanguis Impera evolved into the Primordial Bloodseed, Thalion felt quite confident.
The problem was that what he had seen from the vampire had been threatening—and paired with one thousand free stat points, that wasn’t good.
In the future, it wouldn’t matter as much—but right now, he’d better avoid that vampire.
Another one who must have benefited from the last stage was Maeve, Chosen of Morgana.
She had to be some sort of blood witch, which would have worked very well in that environment.
Also… who was Calen?
Thalion had seen the name on the leaderboard before.
He tried to remember a face from the final battle, but everything had been so fast—and Thalion wasn’t great when it came to remembering faces or names.
Still, this guy—Thalion guessed it was a man based on the name—was above Eric, which was very impressive given what the Chosen could do.
But enough with the leaderboard.
It was time to gather some solid rewards—and it looked like he had already received one in advance.
Congratulations, you have won the treasure hunt
This event is classified by the system as Difficulty Level Seven
You are allowed to share that information with others
Powerful beings and even gods are searching for capable fighters to look out for their protégés in system events
Depending on the level of the system event and your placement, this can be a way of earning a good amount of contribution points
As a reward for your placement, Ratgul has left you an invitation
Do you accept this invitation?
Thalion found it funny that something like this was a business in the system—but it made sense.
He wasn’t really interested in it right now, but Jack and Josh would be amazing caretakers in such an event.
When he was strong enough and didn’t need the rewards anymore, he should give them a little push to take first place.
Probably not in the next one—but there had to be more of these if this could be a whole profession and you were informed like this right after the event.
Still, that was enough notifications for now.
Thalion was ready for some training.
And if the god had a beer waiting—he definitely wouldn’t say no.
